The transmission gear refers to the device that transmits motion and power by the gear pair. Its transmission is relatively accurate, the efficiency is high, the structure is compact, the work is reliable, and the service life is long.

The lubrication method of the transmission gear mainly depends on the peripheral speed of the gear.

1) For open gear and low speed (v<0.8~2m/s), light load, and not very important closed gear transmission, lubricating oil or grease can be added manually.

2) For the closed gear transmission with v=2~12m/s, use oil immersion lubrication. The large gear is immersed in the oil sump, and the oil is brought to the meshing surface by means of the gear transmission. For cylindrical gears, the depth of oil immersion should be 1 to 2 teeth height, and the maximum depth of immersion oil should not exceed 1/3 of the index circle radius of the large gear. The amount of oil in the oil pool is related to the transmission power. The single-stage transmission is 0.35~0.7L/kW, and the multi-stage transmission is multiplied by the number of stages. When the oil immersion depth of the low-speed gears in the multi-stage transmission is appropriate, but the high-speed large gears cannot be immersed in oil, the oil tanker can be used to supply oil to the high-speed large gears. The depth of the oil pool should generally not be less than 30-50mm, to prevent the impurities at the bottom of the oil pool from being stirred up when the gear rotates, causing the lubricating oil to be unclean and aggravating the wear of the tooth surface. There should be sufficient oil in the oil pool to ensure heat dissipation.

3) For the closed gear transmission with v>12m/s, oil injection lubrication should be adopted, and a certain pressure of lubricating oil should be sprayed onto the meshing surface of the gear teeth. When w≤25m/s, the nozzle can be located on the meshing or meshing side of the gear teeth; when v≥25m/s, the nozzle should be located on the meshing side, and the newly meshed gear teeth should be cooled and lubricated in time. The oil supply of oil injection lubrication is sufficient and continuous, and it is suitable for important gear transmissions with high speed and heavy load.
